The Skoda Kodiaq is built on the platform of the new Volkswagen Tiguan, but is noticeably larger than the German in all dimensions. The crossover stretches to almost 4.7 meters in length, a difference of more than 20 cm compared to the Tiguan. The width, height, and wheelbase of the model are 1882, 1676, and 2791 mm respectively. Ground clearance is 194 mm.
The range of power units consists of three petrol and two diesel engines. The base engine will be a 1.4 TSI available in two versions with 125 and 150 hp. Also offered is a two-liter TSI with 180 hp and a torque of 320 Nm. The two-liter diesel engine offers a choice of 150 hp (340 Nm) or 190 hp (400 Nm).
As for the transmission, a 6-speed manual is available, as well as a DSG "robot" with 6 or 7 speeds. Versions with powerful engines are all-wheel drive by default, but more modest engines can be ordered with front-wheel drive.

The Kodiaq became the first Skoda model to be equipped with a surround-view system with four cameras, as well as an electronic assistant for towing a trailer. The multimedia system can offer 64 GB of memory, Google Earth and Google Street View services, and also easily works with smartphones via Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, MirrorLink, and SmartGate interfaces.
The trunk volume is 720 liters; if you fold the rear seats, you can fit more than 2000 liters. The tailgate can be opened even with your hands full, just by swiping your foot under the rear bumper.

The Skoda Kodiaq will go on sale at the beginning of next year; pricing has not yet been announced.
