The crossover will be built on the MQB platform. The base trim will get a three-cylinder 1.0-liter gasoline engine. In addition, versions with a 1.5-liter engine and a two-liter turbo unit are expected. Diesel options are not provided. For an additional cost, buyers will be offered adaptive suspension and all-wheel drive.

The appearance of the new model will echo the T-Cross concept shown at the Geneva Motor Show. The length of the prototype is 4,133 mm, which exceeds the dimensions of, for example, the raised hatchback Volkswagen CrossPolo. In terms of appearance, the T-Cross resembles the second-generation Tiguan: similar stampings on the hood and side panels. The front optics are made in the spirit of the younger Volkswagen crossover, and the rear of the T-Cross Breeze resembles the Passat B8.

The regular version of the new-generation Volkswagen Polo will debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 2017. It will be built on the new MQB A0 platform, which will significantly increase the interior space. The car will have shortened front and rear overhangs, as well as a longer wheelbase. In addition, the car will be equipped with new wheels in the style of the Golf GTI and an exhaust system with two tailpipes.

The driver will be offered a new multimedia system with a large touchscreen and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Possibly, top versions will get a fully digital instrument panel.
