The engine will be available in three power variants: 163 horsepower, 204 horsepower, and the top version develops 224 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque. For comparison, the two-liter biturbo four-cylinder of the pre-restyling pickup produces 180 horsepower and 420 Nm.

The new unit can be paired with a six-speed manual gearbox or an eight-speed automatic. Volkswagen Amarok will be offered with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The new model features a lighter Servotronic steering system, and the top modification is equipped with new brake mechanisms with enlarged discs (432 and 406 millimeters front and rear, respectively).

The restyled Amarok differs from its predecessor with a different front bumper, slightly modified front and rear lighting, and a new instrument panel. The pickup will be available with 20-inch aluminum wheels, bi-xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, and a rearview camera.
Sales of the updated pickup will begin in September. Initially, only the top modification will be available, with other versions reaching dealers later. Prices for the new model have not yet been announced.
