The new model is built on the V platform, which also underpins the new Micra, Sentra, Sunny, and Note. For now, the car will be sold with only one engine – a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine producing 114 horsepower. As for the transmission, you can choose: either a 5-speed manual or an X-Tronic CVT. Drive is only to the front wheels.100229.8430.jpg
Externally, the model is very similar to the Kicks concept, which was shown in Brazil a year and a half ago. Expensive trim levels of the new model will include a 7-inch screen, a surround-view camera system, and a system for detecting moving objects around the car.

The model will be assembled at a plant in Mexico, in the state of Aguascalientes. The first customers to receive the car will be in Brazil. From 2017, the Kicks will be produced in Rio de Janeiro, at a facility that by then will have received an investment of $192 million and hired 600 new employees. In addition to the new model, it is planned to assemble the March and Versa models there.
