The car is built on the basis of a 1978 308 GTS model, which was bought by the company with an engine compartment burnt out due to a fuel leak. The Americans completely restored the body and interior of the Ferrari, and also removed the burnt 2.9-liter V8 with 240 horsepower (265 Nm). Instead, a 415-horsepower (447 Nm) electric powertrain and a five-speed manual gearbox from Porsche, which was used in 911 sports cars in the early 1990s, are now installed.

According to representatives of Electric GT, the "manual" was chosen so that the person behind the wheel could "feel the driving pleasure that one would expect from a Ferrari." And the choice of the transmission from Porsche was made because it can withstand high torque.

The electric motor is powered by batteries with a capacity of 30 kilowatt-hours, which allow driving up to 160 kilometers on a single charge. Subsequently, the company plans to equip its cars with batteries of twice the capacity. The mass of the electric sports car reached 1.5 tons – about 300 kilograms heavier than the original Ferrari 308 GTS. The electric car will be presented to the public at the Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway as part of an auction in Monterey, California.
