According to the parliamentarian, the idea is as follows: any citizen will be able to record traffic violations on their phone and send the corresponding video to the police (naturally, this applies to violators whose vehicles have license plates, so that law enforcement can identify the driver/owner).

As an incentive, "informants" are promised 10% of the fine paid by the violator. That is, for example, if a driver records running a red light, and patrol officers fine the violator, the "civilian police officer" will receive 42.50 UAH into their account (the fine for such a violation, we recall, is 425 UAH).

They want to implement the idea through digital capabilities. It is planned that a special mobile application will be created for this. A phone with the activated application and the camera turned on will need to be installed in your car, and when a motorist notices a violation, they will be able to make the necessary recording and send it to the Ministry of Internal Affairs database.

Such an application will need to be authorized using the "Diia" application.

Kunitsky noted that this bill has very high chances of being adopted in the session hall of the Verkhovna Rada.
