As reported by the Telegram channel of the Ukrautoprom association, problems with customs clearance have arisen for passenger cars registered in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. The reason lies in diplomatic issues.

It is emphasized that the diplomatic institutions of Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia have not provided the State Customs Service of Ukraine with clarifications on the procedure for deregistration and execution of a sales contract for cars. Because of this, the Ukrainian side does not have complete information on how to properly process vehicles.

Because of this, owners of such euro plates are in no hurry to register, although requests to brokers are received regularly. Most often, cars from Bulgaria are found in the southern regions of Ukraine, and from the Czech Republic and Slovakia – in Zakarpattia.

Let us remind you that the laws on preferential customs clearance of "euro plates" came into force on June 15. Owners were given 180 days to legalize cars, and they apply only to those vehicles that were imported before December 31, 2020 inclusive. In addition, there is a restriction on standards – owners of cars not lower than Euro-2 can use the service.

It is assumed that under the benefit, any car can be cleared through customs for an average of 1,000 euros, however, as practice has shown, in some cases the cost of customs clearance may equal the cost of the car itself.
