Such a high price can be explained by the fact that this is, in essence, a new car: the 124th's mileage is only 995 km. Photos of the sedan confirm its excellent condition.

According to Mechatronik, the sedan was delivered to the Mercedes-Benz branch in Braunschweig, Germany, on May 27, 1987. The car was used for demonstration purposes (it stood in the showroom). It remained in show-car status for a year, after which it was decided to keep it in storage. The Mercedes spent 33 years in conservation, and now they are looking for a new owner for it.

Recently, the sedan passed the mandatory technical inspection in Germany, received a TÜV certificate, and is ready for road use. However, the new owner is unlikely to drive it – such an example definitely belongs only on a collector's stand.

The Mercedes W124 is painted in silver color Astralsilber. This is the base version of the sedan – 230E – with a regular fabric interior and regular steel wheels (hubcaps, as expected, are present). Under the hood is a gasoline four-cylinder 2.3 engine with 136 hp and a torque of 205 Nm.

Meanwhile, as AutoPortal previously reported, another equally interesting German car is being sold in the USA – Volkswagen Touareg with a diesel engine 5.0 V10 TDI. This crossover costs several times less than the 124th, though its mileage is much higher.
