And the point is not in Ukrainian legislation – we have just introduced another grace period for customs clearance. The thing is that Lithuania has changed the rules for reselling cars, and most "euro plates" were traditionally brought from this country.

Now the Lithuanian authorities will more carefully track all transactions of buying and selling used cars. The introduction of SDK is called a forced step precisely because of the huge scale of the business of bringing "euro plates" to Ukraine.

In order to sell a car, Lithuanians will need to issue an owner's declaration SDK. Moreover, it is issued for each car separately, and if a Lithuanian citizen sells 10 cars, then he needs 10 SDKs.

Since all SDKs will be tracked by the tax office, many Lithuanians who have dozens of unregistered cars registered to them will not want to "show up". But in order to take advantage of the right to preferential customs clearance, it is necessary to deregister the car in Lithuania. To do this, on the regitra.lt website you need to fill out an application and upload a scan of the purchase and sale agreement.

The car seller must confirm the transaction within 5 days. After that, the SDK for this car will be canceled and it will be deregistered.
