This promotion is available, however, only in one country – Brazil. It is called Toyota Barter. The Japanese automaker offers local farmers to pay with agricultural products (for example, corn, soybeans) for brand new Hilux pickups (16% of sales of this model come from representatives of the farming business, so it is assumed that barter will simplify the renewal of the 'fleet' for customers), but the Fortuner SUV (in Brazil it is called SW4) and the Corolla Cross crossover are also available to choose from.

It is emphasized that dealers will evaluate farm products at market price and credit it as payment for the car. In Brazil, Toyota Hilux, converted from local currency, costs from $38,150 for the version with a single cab and from $36,994 for the variant with a two-row body. The difference is due to the fact that the two-door has better equipment – already in the base it comes with a 2.8-liter diesel and all-wheel drive, while the four-door can only boast a 2.7-liter naturally aspirated engine and rear-wheel drive as standard.

Interestingly, in fact, Toyota launched this promotion back in 2019, but then it operated only as a pilot project in certain states. Now it has been extended to the entire country.
