Cheap Deutsche Post electric cars
59-year-old locksmith Bernd Biank from Hanover, Germany, trades in unusual exclusives. For this purpose, he even founded a company (actually, a dealership). In total, Biank purchased 1,000 such cars from Deutsche Post. In addition, he hired three workers who repair vans and prepare them for sale, autobild.de found out.

The mileage of the electric cars varies from 100 to 30,000 km. The businessman sells each of them for just under 9,000 euros (but the exact price depends on the configuration and the number of purchases – the dealer is ready to sell cars cheaper in bulk). This amount also includes fresh maintenance. Biank also guarantees service support – for example, he claims that there will be no problems with spare parts for at least the next 10 years.

The first customers of the budget "electric" dealer already exist – these are a pharmacy, a hotel owner, a cemetery gardener and a fishing club (so far about 60-70 cars have been sold).
What are these StreetScooter cars anyway?
StreetScooter Work is a delivery electric van that was created by a small company StreetScooter from Aachen by order of DHL and Deutsche Post for delivering parcels to addresses. The car was launched into mass production in 2016, but already in 2020 production ceased – due to the unprofitability of the project. Now it has been replaced by a more advanced van, which is made on the Ford Transit chassis.

StreetScooter can accelerate up to 80 km/h and travel 80 km on a single charge (battery – 20.4 kWh). The car charges from a household outlet in about 7 hours. The cargo area volume of the electric car is 4.3 cubic meters, maximum payload is 650 kg. The equipment includes a heater, but there is no air conditioner.
It is also interesting that some components of the StreetScooter are from production fuel cars. So, the handbrake is from – Volkswagen Polo, front brakes from VW Golf IV, rear brakes from – Audi A3.
