Skoda Kodiaq debuted on the market in 2016. Before that, the company produced the Yeti crossover, but it is believed that it was with the appearance of the Kodiaq that Skoda burst into the SUV segment and successfully established itself in it.

Currently, the Kodiaq is produced in four countries and sold in more than 60 countries worldwide. The world premiere of the model took place on September 1, 2016, and already in October of the same year, production began at the plant in Kvasiny, Czech Republic. Later, assembly of the Kodiaq was mastered by plants in Ukraine, Russia, and China. As the Czechs emphasize, the Kodiaq is especially popular in China – a cross-coupe version, the Kodiaq GT, was even made specifically for this market.

After the Kodiaq, two more crossovers for Europe followed - Karoq and Kamiq, as well as several models intended for China and India. The newest representative of the Czech SUV family is the Skoda Kushaq for the Indian market, presented last week.

Finally, in addition to fuel-powered cars, Skoda has recently also started producing the electric crossover Enyaq iV.
The Czech manufacturer notes that in 2020, crossovers accounted for almost 40% of its total sales, so it should not be surprising if another Skoda crossover appears in the near future.
