The Kia K8 received its own unique design, but with elements borrowed from other brand models. The signature "tiger nose" grille has been retained, but it has acquired a complex honeycomb shape. The car's silhouette is like that of luxury-class "Germans".

In terms of size, the car turned out to be large: its length is 5,015 mm, which is 20 mm more than in the case of the K7 sedan. That is, the new Kia is longer than the E-Class, but significantly shorter than the S-Class.

The platform of the Kia K8 is the same front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is provided for the top versions of the model. The base comes with the previous 2.5 GDI engine, developing 198 hp and 248 Nm, in more expensive trim levels a new 3.5-liter V6 with 300 hp and a torque of 359 Nm. The latter engine also has a gas version (LPI), though it is not as powerful – only 240 hp and 314 Nm. The gearbox in all cases is the same – an 8-speed automatic. Later, the range will be supplemented by a 1.6 T-GDI unit.
Inside, the K8 inherited the architecture familiar from previous big sedans of Kia, Genesis, and Hyundai – with sets of distinctive controls for the multimedia system, climate control, etc. However, now the multimedia screen is combined into a single housing with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. At the same time, the central tunnel and armrest now provide more space – due to the abandonment of the traditional automatic gearbox lever in favor of a wheel. Maximum comfort for the driver and passengers is ensured by new Ergo Motion seats with many adjustments. The upholstery is presented in Nappa leather, wood veneer, and aluminum.

The Kia K8 also has rich equipment. Expensive versions received, for example, a Meridian audio system with 14 speakers, adaptive dampers, and adaptive cruise control with lane-keeping function.
On the home Korean market, sales of the Kia K8 will begin in April. Prices for the car start from $29,000 – which is significantly less than competitors cost.
