Production of cars at the plant in Mlada Boleslav began back in 1905. At that time, the founders of the company Laurin & Klement (later, in 1925, it became Skoda Auto) decided to stop producing bicycles and focus exclusively on the production of motorcycles and cars.
The first car of the Czech company was the L&K Voiturette Type A, and it was produced in large series for that time (100 units) and exported to many European countries, as well as Japan.

The operational workshop where the Voiturette Type A was born still exists. A few years ago, it was turned into the Skoda Museum.
Today, the plant in Mlada Boleslav employs 29,100 people, and currently produces six models: Fabia, Scala, Octavia, Kamiq, Karoq, as well as the electric Enyaq iV.
By the way, the anniversary, 15-millionth example was exactly the electric crossover Enyaq iV (this model went to the assembly line only in November 2020).
