The final version of the Toyota Mark X in the Final Edition body is painted white and is equipped with a 2.5-liter V6 engine producing 203 horsepower, naturally aspirated. The longitudinally mounted engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.

This model was produced for more than half a century, surviving 11 generations. Initially, the car was called the Toyota Mark II, and in 2004 it was renamed Mark X. Over 51 years, 6,518,000 Mark II cars and 363,500 Mark X cars were produced, with 3.5 million of them coming off the Toyota Motomachi assembly line. At various times, the model range included sedans, station wagons, and coupes.

Information that the company was going to discontinue production of this sedan appeared in the spring of this year. It also became known then that the model would have no successor, and the Final Edition version would be the concluding one.

Toyota linked the discontinuation of the Mark X to decreased interest in large rear-wheel-drive sedans in the domestic Japanese market.
