The mountain serpentine to the top of Tianmen, where the "Heaven's Gate" cave is located, has 99 steep turns, and the elevation gain ranges from 200 to 1300 meters. Currently, this route is only accessible to tourist buses and special occasions.
For this run, Block prepared a fresh drift car built on the chassis of the legendary 1977 Ford F-150 pickup truck. Under the hood, they installed a twin-turbo engine based on the racing Ford GT engine that brought victory in its class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race. The power unit, paired with a sequential Sadev gearbox, produces 927 horsepower.
It is worth noting that in the first episode of the Climbkhana show, Ken Block stormed the summit of Pikes Peak in Colorado, where the famous "Race to the Clouds" takes place. In that run, the driver drove the all-wheel-drive Hoonicorn, styled after the classic 1965 Ford Mustang muscle car. The car was equipped with a 6.7-liter V8 with two turbos, developing approximately 1400 horsepower.
