The experiment involved 15 people. The tests were conducted on a simulator that imitates driving a car. In one scenario, the "drivers" were exposed to low-frequency vibration (4–7 hertz), in the other, they drove without it.
As the specialists found out, vibration from the car begins to affect the driver's well-being already a quarter of an hour after the start of the trip. After 30 minutes, concentration may decrease. The greatest degree of fatigue is recorded by the 60th minute. It is emphasized that fatigue provoked by vibration directly affects the ability to cope even with simple intellectual tasks.
According to the authors of the work, changing the design of car seats may solve this problem. The researchers hope that the results of the experiment will attract the attention of major automakers.
