The launch of the Guru in Ukraine was announced several years ago. In 2020, the truck was modernized at a Ukrainian enterprise and its cross-country capability was improved by installing new reinforced axles.

Now the new product will be offered to Ukrainian security forces and the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The Ashok Leyland Guru 715 surpasses the outdated GAZ-66 in many parameters.

In particular, the Indian model is equipped with a much more economical 150-horsepower turbodiesel. The advantage of the engine is also greater traction, because the torque reaches 520 N∙m. The maximum speed is 110 km/h. The Guru is more maneuverable than the GAZ-66, because its turning radius is only 7.25 m.

Moreover, the Guru is capable of climbing a steeper incline than the GAZ-66 – 35 degrees versus 31. And it also has half a ton more payload capacity – 2520 kg. The truck's ground clearance is 315 mm, and it can ford water depths of up to 80 cm.
