Elon Musk's company was pushed to this decision by constant queues for body repairs. Partner auto services linked this problem to the fact that Tesla could not properly organize the supply of spare parts and consumables, while the manufacturer blamed the service stations for the interruptions. Thus, the parties spent years shifting responsibility onto each other, and now Tesla has decided to put an end to this issue.

As reported by Electrek.co, body repair shops will belong directly to Tesla itself; they will take on work of absolutely any complexity, except in cases where there is damage to the load-bearing elements of the body (read: frame, chassis).

This news came from North America, but most likely, Tesla will create such service stations in other markets as well, particularly in Europe and China.

It is worth noting that the opening of branded body repair shops is indeed an important event for Tesla owners. It was highly undesirable for electric car owners to repair bodies at third-party service stations: otherwise, they could lose the warranty on the car.

Recall that a few days ago, Tesla introduced updated versions of its flagships – the Model S liftback and the Model X crossover. The cars received many improvements, but most importantly, instead of a steering wheel, they were equipped with a yoke, and the power plants were brought to "hurricane" dynamics.
