During the study, 76,256 owners of new cars in the United States were surveyed. They had to answer 233 questions, combined into 8 main categories, about problems identified during the first three months of operation. The survey results formed the basis of a rating that shows the average number of defects per hundred cars of a particular brand.
According to the data obtained, Genesis cars have 63 problems per 100 cars. Second place went to Kia — 70 malfunctions per hundred cars. The top three is closed by Hyundai with an indicator of 71 defects. The fourth and fifth places were taken by Ford (83) and Lincoln (84).
The worst situation is with Jaguar: owners recorded 130 defects per 100 cars. At the bottom of the list are also Land Rover and Mitsubishi — 123 and 121 breakdowns, respectively. At the same time, the British brand noticeably improved its results: a year earlier, Land Rover had 160 defects per hundred cars.
The company notes that the overall quality level of cars has practically not changed compared to last year. The average indicator for all brands was 93 breakdowns per 100 cars. As before, owners of new cars most often complain about failures in multimedia systems, incorrect operation of electronic assistants, extraneous noises, and difficulties starting the engine.
