The Japanese approached the construction of their compact "hot hatch" with all seriousness, and the Civic Type R differs from regular versions not only in its internals but also in its entire appearance. Take, for example, the rear wing, which engineers "fine-tuned" under real conditions at the Nürburgring!

In addition, the front fenders with widenings accommodate 20-inch wheels. For better engine cooling, an enlarged faux radiator grille is installed, and additional air intakes have appeared on the hood. The wheel discs are also designed with an eye to improving brake cooling, with airflow directed from the front spoiler.

Although Honda has not yet disclosed technical details, it is known that the Civic Type R will feature adaptive chassis with switching of suspension modes, steering, and throttle response via a single R button on the front panel. Under the hood, the model gets a new 2-liter engine with direct fuel injection and turbocharging.

Apparently, the engine will be further upgraded, but its power will be around 300 hp. At the same time, the powertrain meets Euro-6 standards. A six-speed manual gearbox is offered as the transmission.

The Japanese hope that the Honda Civic Type R will become the fastest front-wheel-drive model at the Nürburgring. To do this, it will have to beat the very fresh record of the Seat Leon Cupra, which completed the "North Loop" in just 7 minutes 58.44 seconds.

In any case, the production of the Civic Type R will be an event for speed enthusiasts and connoisseurs of cars with excellent handling.
