As reported by the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, Danylo Hetmantsev, the Cabinet of Ministers is already preparing to submit the corresponding draft law to parliament (though when exactly is not specified).

The politician noted that if, for example, the tax authority asks a citizen where they got the money to buy a car (or an apartment, if you will), and they cannot explain its origin or show a tax amnesty declaration, they will have to pay a tax. In this case, the tax will be levied not on the assets themselves as such, but on the portion of the amount whose origin remains unknown to the authorities.

Hetmantsev emphasized that the practice of controlling the acquisition of expensive assets exists in other countries, and Ukraine should "follow civilized rules."

How exactly the control mechanism will be implemented, the prospects of which look quite vague in the conditions of the shadow economy, is not specified.
