The thing is, starting February 4, a new Technical Regulation on liquefied gases comes into force. However, the state is not ready for it, because at the moment there are no necessary certification bodies, and this could paralyze the market.

The law states that before each batch of gas is allowed for sale, a document confirming its compliance with the requirements of the Technical Regulation is required. The inspection should be carried out by special conformity assessment bodies accredited by the National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine (NAAU).

However, such bodies are still absent due to delays in the review of documents at the NAAU. That is, after February 4, all batches of liquefied gas entering the market may be blocked.

Also, the Consulting Group A-95 reports problems in the norms of the Technical Regulation itself. Thus, certification of each batch of gas in an accredited Ukrainian laboratory is required. And there are very few such institutions in the country.

In addition, supervisory authorities have the right to detain batches of autogas for sampling, which is fraught with corruption. Therefore, experts recommend postponing the entry into force of the new Technical Regulation to a later date.
