According to him, over the past month gasoline in Ukraine has lost 10% of its value, and diesel fuel has fallen in price by 9.1%.
“In the retail price of Ukrainian fuel, the oil component accounts for about 45% (everything else is taxes, costs and, of course, sellers' margins),” he said, emphasizing that with a 40% drop in crude oil quotes, gas stations should have cut prices by 18%.
As the expert notes, only 10 of these 18% have been realized so far, so the reserve for further reduction is about 8%, or approximately 2.5 hryvnias per liter.
“The process is moving forward, albeit not as fast as we would like. However, if you look at European gas stations, the dynamics of reduction are comparable, and in some places even more modest (10% for gasoline and about 8% for diesel). So the slowness in price declines is apparently a common feature of this business in any country. But, I repeat, everything is still ahead!” summed up the head of A-95.
Recall that the reduction in gasoline prices started on November 1: on average, they lost 3.5 hryvnias per liter. Diesel fuel has fallen in price by 3 hryvnias per liter since November 13. In premium chains, including OKKO and WOG, gasoline has become cheaper by 4 hryvnias per liter, and diesel by 2.5 hryvnias per liter. Over the same period, the economy segment (Privat group gas stations) reduced the cost of both gasoline and diesel by 3 hryvnias per liter.
