Until the first ten days of May, retail market players did not change price tags, although back in April exchange quotations for gasoline jumped by 16% ($95/t), and diesel fuel by 9% ($51/t) compared to March. In early May, the global situation worsened again: gasoline added $25/t, diesel fuel — $19/t.

A restraining factor for prices in April was the hryvnia: over the month it strengthened against the euro by 31 kopecks (0.95%), against the dollar by 19 kopecks (0.7%). In the first days of May, the national currency strengthened against the euro by another 79 kopecks (2.5%), which is explained by the fall of the European currency on global platforms.

As calculated in the Consulting Group A-95, since the beginning of April, wholesale prices for gasoline have increased by 6-7% (2,000-2,300 UAH/t), for diesel fuel by 9% (2,400 UAH/t). This gives reason to expect an increase at gas stations within 1 UAH/l, and if the current negative dynamics of the world market persist, growth may continue.
