This growth was driven by used electric vehicles — their first registrations in Ukraine jumped by 82 percent. At the same time, the popularity of new electric cars fell by 19 percent.
As before, the most sought-after electric car in the primary market was the Nissan Leaf. In January-February, 346 such cars received Ukrainian plates, which is 32% more than in the same period last year. Moreover, the vast majority — 96% — were used cars.
Second place, trailing the leader by 316 cars, went to the BMW i3. 30 drivers chose this model, which is 6 times more than in the first two months of the previous year. Of these, 40% were new cars.
The top three most popular electric cars in Ukraine is rounded out by the Tesla Model S — 20 buyers chose it, with 14 of them preferring used cars.
Also during the reporting period, there were models that added only new examples to the Ukrainian car fleet — these are the Hyundai Ioniq (7 units), Tesla Model X (4 units), and Chevrolet Volt (2 units).
