Apart from its age, the German sedan was in generally poor condition - its front end was smashed. As a result, the project's author got the car for only 540 dollars.

After purchasing it, Bryce tidied up the Mercedes and modified it for the Gambler 500 rally. This type of competition requires participants to buy a cheap car (it's also important that it be impractical), then modify it and go on fun off-road rides.

Ronsone fixed the aftermath of the accident (he slightly "straightened" the body and installed new headlights, as the old ones were missing), then added a custom front bumper, a roof rack, and wide tires that were bought for 50 dollars each. In the end, the result was a car in the style of the vehicles from "Mad Max".

The S-Class's suspension remained stock, as did the engine. The five-cylinder turbo diesel was in fully working condition, so Bryce only changed the oil in it. According to the owner's estimates, with the open wastegate, the engine produces about 130 horsepower.
According to the amateur racer, the work on the car lasted only a week, and the total budget for the project was less than 800 dollars.
