As reported by AUTO-Consulting, the body of the Bohdan A701.00 electric bus was developed from scratch by the Ukrainian side, and its retrofitting was handled by a Polish company that equipped the Ukrainian electric bus with a fast charging system.
Now the Bohdan A701.00 electric bus can be charged not only at terminal stops, but also along the route. At certain stops that intersect with the trolleybus network, the electric bus draws power using lifting pantographs. Moreover, it can replenish its energy supply during stops while passengers are boarding and alighting.
Such fast charging increases the electric bus's range in autonomous mode, as well as the frequency of trips performed. The system is currently being tested in Lublin, where 38 Bohdan-Ursus buses are in operation.

There is currently only one Bohdan A701.00 electric bus in Lublin, and it operates on a route that is not electrified. If the experiment succeeds and the fast charging system proves its worth, the Lublin authorities intend to replace buses with electric buses, running them on routes perpendicular to the existing trolleybus network. It is known that the Bohdan A701 electric bus has a range of 120 km.
