The main change in the taxi market occurred after the emergence of mobile platforms. The driver no longer necessarily has to work through a classic taxi fleet or search for passengers independently.
Uber, Bolt, Free Now, and other services have essentially created a digital market where the app connects the passenger and the driver.

the estimated arrival time;
the optimal route;
the cost of the trip;
areas of increased demand;
the driver's rating;
the efficiency of their work.
Therefore, a modern taxi driver works not only with the car but also with the digital system.
Artificial intelligence will have a stronger impact on income
The next stage is deeper use of AI.
Systems are capable of analyzing trip history, traffic jams, weather, city events, and passenger behavior. Based on this data, the driver can receive recommendations on where the probability of the next order is higher.
For example, after a concert or football match, the algorithm understands in advance that demand near the stadium will sharply increase after a certain time.
By 2030, such technologies could become even more accurate. For the driver, this means that the ability to properly use the app will directly affect earnings.
Truckers are becoming operators of complex transport
No less serious changes are taking place in international freight transportation.
A modern truck is already a large computer on wheels. The driver works with navigation, telematics, electronic tachograph, fuel control systems, and numerous electronic assistants.
Systems are increasingly used:

automatic emergency braking;
lane keeping control;
blind spot monitoring;
driver fatigue monitoring;
prediction of technical malfunctions;

An international driver constantly works with waybills, routes, customs documents, cargo information, and delivery times. The gradual transition to electronic documents reduces the amount of paperwork.

Autopilot - the end of the trucker profession?
The development of autonomous transport indeed poses a long-term challenge to the profession. However, the scenario in which millions of truckers suddenly become unnecessary looks too simplistic.
International transportation is not only driving on a highway. There is loading, documents, borders, bad weather, city streets, breakdowns, non-standard situations, and interaction with clients.
Most likely, the most predictable sections of the route will be automated first. The role of the person may gradually shift from direct vehicle control to monitoring its operation.
Which drivers will be most in demand by 2030
Specialists who combine driving experience with technological literacy will have an advantage.
Knowledge of foreign languages, experience in international transportation, work with digital tachographs and transport systems, understanding of European rules, skills in economical driving, and the ability to work with modern trucks will be especially valuable.
In taxi, rating, service quality, knowledge of the city, and the ability to effectively use several digital tools at once will become increasingly important.
How to safely choose an employer
In the transport sector, there are offers with attractive salaries behind which fines, additional deductions, or a completely different schedule may be hidden.
Before employment, it is necessary to find out what salary is guaranteed by the contract, how business trips are paid, who bears the costs of housing and transport, what vehicle is provided, and who is responsible for fines or damages.
If the platform allows choosing only "Verified Employers," it is reasonable to start the search with such offers. But the final decision should be made only after independently checking the carrier and the contract.
Driver of the future
By 2030, taxi and freight transportation will become even more automated. AI will distribute orders, calculate routes, predict maintenance, and help control transport.
But this does not necessarily mean the disappearance of drivers. Rather, the profession itself will change: fewer routine operations and more interaction with digital systems.
"It makes no sense for a driver to compete with technology. It is much more promising to learn to use it better than others - it is such specialists who will be most in demand by transport companies of the future," notes journalist Vitaliy Belenets.
