The test took place in Germany. The test involved the PV5, equipped with a 71.2 kWh battery. According to the official data, the vehicle's range is 415 km, but the actual figure turned out to be 67% higher than the official one. The route was laid out north of Frankfurt am Main — it covered both highways and city streets with traffic lights, roundabouts, and elevation changes of up to 370 meters.
The drive lasted 22.5 hours and consisted of 12 laps, each 58.2 km long. Behind the wheel, the chief engineer of KIA's European technical center, Christian Niggemeier, and automotive journalist George Barrow took turns. Notably, the van was not empty — it carried 665 kg of cargo, making the test conditions as close as possible to everyday use.
The KIA PV5's results once again prove that electric commercial vehicles are demonstrating ever-increasing efficiency.
