The incident occurred on the A1 motorway, in the northern part of Italy, near the city of Fidenza. As local media report, first a strong storm broke out, visibility dropped to zero and drivers were forced to stop. Then, after some time, huge chunks of ice began to fall from the sky, which began to turn cars into a sieve.

The result – almost all cars have damaged windows and bodywork. Moreover, some cars have damage so serious that they are unlikely to be restored due to potentially high repair costs.
