The main task of the intelligent transport system will be to control the load on Kyiv's roads. Thus, they plan to improve the operation of public transport so that it moves strictly on schedule.
The Kyiv City State Administration, together with the Patrol Police Department of Kyiv and the Municipal Enterprise "Informatics", selected three locations with heavy traffic for the test implementation of the system. These are the intersection of Lesya Ukrainka Boulevard, Bassiyna Street, Mechnykova Street and Lva Tolstoho Street, as well as Peremohy Square and European Square.
In the future, the new video surveillance system should be launched on 65 main highways of Kyiv and exits from the city. It will allow analyzing traffic and calculating transport models, which will make it possible to balance vehicle flows, adjust traffic light operation, and regulate restrictions on the entry of freight transport.
