According to statistics, at the beginning of the previous year this figure was 92 percent. Thus, in just twelve months, the number of "bad roads" increased by five percent.
As noted by Oleh Ostroverkh, Associate Professor at the National Transport University, only 1.6% of Ukrainian roads can boast four or more lanes. If we draw parallels with European highways, only 37% of domestic roads have asphalt or concrete pavement, which brings them closer to EU standards.
Today, in terms of road surface quality, Ukraine is inferior not only to European autobahns, but also to countries such as Belarus, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.
