The corresponding resolution was approved by the Cabinet during today's meeting. The government states that this step was a reaction to Moscow's actions, which over the past weekend introduced restrictions for Ukrainian trucks on its territory. As of February 15, 152 vehicles belonging to Ukrainian carriers were detained on the territory of the Russian Federation.
The Russian side, in turn, blames Ukraine, claiming that for several days activists have been blocking Russian trucks, which, in their opinion, provoked retaliatory measures.
Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, however, believes that Russia unilaterally violated the norms and regulations of the World Trade Organization by suspending the movement of Ukrainian freight transport through its territory without coordination with the Ukrainian side.
