In contrast to the cancellation of the "preferential" limit of 20 km/h, Sirenko promises a balanced approach to speed limits. On those sections where it is reasonably possible to increase the speed, new signs will appear.

Let us remind you that recently the State Traffic Inspectorate discussed with Kyiv residents the increase of the speed limit on some streets of the capital. The citizens chose 11 proposed options out of 21. For example, the capital's residents did not support the 80 km/h speed limit on Peremohy Avenue, considering it not safe enough.

At the same time, Kyiv residents proceeded from the logic that to the permitted 80 km/h one should add another 20 km/h, and this is already really unsafe for this section. If the non-fined gap is canceled, then the speed limit of 80 km/h is quite suitable for Peremohy Avenue.

In addition, the State Traffic Inspectorate proposes to reduce the speed limit near schools. But the introduction of the automatic violation recording system has been postponed to a later date. However, this system will appear on our roads, as the department wants to minimize the influence of the human factor on the inevitability of punishment for traffic violations.
