While European drivers are struggling with the consequences of snowfalls, Ukrainian motorists can breathe a sigh of relief — the condition of the road surface on our highways allows for movement without unnecessary difficulties. Such smoothness of asphalt has not been observed since March.

The main headache for residents of the capital is traffic jams on the roads. If the cost of fuel relative to the salaries of Ukrainians has somewhat unloaded the streets, then a downpour or even a light snowfall quickly returns the usual picture of congestion.

City authorities annually report readiness for winter precipitation, but when real cold sets in, there are thousands of reasons explaining the collapse on the capital's highways. On the twenty-second of January, "Kyivavtodor" deployed 271 units of special equipment on the streets of Kyiv.

Despite this, Kyiv drivers complain that Victory Avenue in the direction of the Zhytomyr highway has not been cleared. On Taras Shevchenko Boulevard, the road was only partially treated with salt, and the main arteries of the city have been brought into a more or less acceptable condition.

Fortunately, forecasters do not predict new precipitation, although frosty weather will persist. So for now, movement on our roads remains quite comfortable.
