It is quite possible that the employees of the State Automobile Inspectorate are in no hurry to implement expensive equipment, given the turbulent public situation. Nevertheless, it is most likely that the sending of fine notifications will be postponed until the situation in the country normalizes.
Deputy Head of the State Automobile Inspectorate Vladimir Reznikov noted that companies producing photo-fixation systems do not show much enthusiasm in concluding contracts for their installation for the Ukrainian traffic police. He did not specify the reasons for such caution on the part of suppliers, but it is obvious that businessmen are wary of the terms of the agreement, even despite the absence of mass protests.
Let us recall that on January 16, the parliament approved a law allowing the recording of traffic violations using photo and video cameras, as well as sending drivers notifications of fines by mail. The State Automobile Inspectorate tested the mechanism of this system for a year in test mode, and officially the law was supposed to come into effect on February 20, 2014.
