According to the forecast of Mykola Kulbida, head of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, a noticeable drop in temperature is expected in Ukraine from January 19 to 24. He also noted that in the second half of the winter season, short periods of cold and heavy precipitation will prevail.

The frosts will hit the northeastern regions of the country the hardest, including Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Luhansk, where thermometers may drop to -20 degrees. In the northern and central regions, temperatures of -10 to -16 degrees are expected, while in the south and west, temperatures will range from -5 to -10 degrees.

Along with the cold snap, heavy snowfall and icy roads are forecast. Meteorologists expect warming only closer to the end of January.
