With the onset of cold weather and shorter daylight hours, there have been more accidents on the roads in which pedestrians are injured. Most often, such incidents occur because people cross the road in undesignated places, suddenly run out onto the roadway, are in a state of alcohol intoxication, and also due to bad weather and poor visibility on highways.

To prevent collisions with pedestrians, especially children who are on the streets and country roads in the dark, the staff of the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Khmelnytskyi region launched a preventive campaign called "Pay attention to me!".

As part of this initiative, special reflective elements were created: multi-colored adhesive tapes and reusable bracelets. They bear the inscription "Road safety is life".

So that drivers can see pedestrians in advance in the dark or in poor visibility and have time to react, traffic police crews that go on duty in the evening or at night hand out these reflective bracelets and stickers to passers-by.

Inspectors pay special attention to schoolchildren from rural areas who have to walk to school in poor visibility conditions, especially if their route runs along unlit roads.
