Actually, the Octavia RS with the Bonneville prefix in its name was created by Skoda's technical center in the UK to set a speed record among production cars equipped with 2.0-liter turbo engines. And the car fulfilled the task it was prepared for: on August 19, 2011, on the Bonneville track (a dried-up salt lake) in Utah, USA, the fastest of the fastest Octavias managed to accelerate to 366 km/h. No other competitor has been able to beat the result of the brainchild of the Mlada Boleslav brand!

Skoda is especially proud of this achievement, so in honor of the 10th anniversary of the record, the brand decided to restore the 600-horsepower Octavia.

The specialists managed to achieve an output of 600 hp (about three times more powerful than the standard engine) from the 2.0-liter TSI engine by installing a large Garrett turbocharger, an additional 10-liter radiator, a reinforced fan, new injectors and engine mounts (the electronic control unit was also recalibrated).

Among other differences of the sport liftback from the regular one: a manual gearbox with extended fifth and sixth gears, as well as a limited-slip differential, a suspension lowered by 80 mm, and 15-inch steel wheels with optimized aerodynamic covers on Goodyear Eagle Dragway Special tires.
