This concerns a large-scale service campaign that covered 201,149 Kia Telluride vehicles from the 2022–2024 model years. As it turned out, the cause was a defect made by the component manufacturer Saedong: the adhesive used to secure the door moldings was applied with a violation of technology. This could cause the decorative trim to lose strength over time and fall off while driving, creating a hazard for road users.
It is worth noting that vehicles assembled after the end of September 2024 already receive improved parts — with new adhesive and additional mechanical fastening. For all other owners, the repair will be free of charge. Invitation letters for the repair will begin to be sent out in September 2025.
Additionally, the Kia K5 sedan from the 2023–2025 model years has been included in the recall. In this case, the issue concerns the body pillar trim. Due to unreliable fastening installed by another supplier — Keumgang Chemical — Kia received numerous complaints from car owners. There is no information about injuries resulting from this defect.
It is worth recalling that both models, especially the K5, are in demand in Ukraine as well — in particular, due to the import of cars from the USA or Korea.
