According to statistics, the value of green cars decreases by 26.3%, red by 29.8%, and blue by 30.9%. On average, cars on the American market lose about 31% of their price. The most depreciating are golden cars — here the drop can reach 34.4%.
It is noteworthy that white and black cars, which are in the highest demand, actually lose more value than some bright colors. Black cars typically depreciate by 31.9%, and white ones by 32.1%.
However, it should be noted that a high residual value does not guarantee a quick sale. Bright colors are less popular among buyers, so such cars may wait longer for their owner on the secondary market. Nevertheless, these very models often attract true enthusiasts and collectors — especially when it comes to limited series or rare shades.
By the way, according to BASF, yellow has become a trend of 2024, with its popularity growing by one and a half times. However, the share of such cars on a global scale remains insignificant — only 1.5%. For comparison: white cars occupy 34% of the market, black — 22%, and gray — 17%.
