JLR has stated that the last batch of vehicles has already been shipped by sea, and no new deliveries will be made until the situation with customs duties is fully clarified. The decision is related to the introduction of additional duties on cars imported from the UK, which has significantly complicated the economic feasibility of exports for European brands.
Currently, most automakers are reviewing their pricing strategies and seeking new sales markets, particularly in Asia and the Middle East. At the same time, the American market may face a shortage of sought-after models — from Range Rover to electric Audi and premium BMW.
The situation may change if the parties manage to agree on new trade deals or negotiate a temporary easing of customs barriers. But for now, American buyers will have to either wait or look at offers from local manufacturers.
