As part of the Olympiad, students from more than a hundred schools created creative videos about the importance of using reflective elements in the dark and posted them on social networks. In total, more than 170 videos and more than 100 schools took part in the Olympiad, which was launched by OKKO. The goal of the project is to develop a culture of wearing reflectors among young people.
The winners of the national Olympiad "Please, shine!" were: Viktoriia Tepеryk (Rivne), Dariia Radko (Vyshhorod) and Diana Rusyn (Lviv). Two winners were chosen by the vote of the competition jury and one by the number of likes on social networks. The children will receive prizes - iPhone 11, and the schools they represented - sets of reflectors.
"I like that the Olympiad combined an educational and creative task. The children were able to show their creative skills in creating videos and at the same time convey an important message - reflectors save lives. It is necessary to accustom to the culture of wearing flickers, vests and other reflective elements in the dark from childhood, so that it becomes a normal everyday habit," notes one of the members of the competition jury of the Olympiad, founder of the electric car blog AutoGeek Yevhen Mudzhyri.

All videos of the Olympiad participants can be viewed by hashtag #благаюсвітись on social networks Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
"We understood that forming the habit of using reflectors in the dark is a very difficult task. That is why we turned to the children's audience for support and it worked very well. Throughout the month, we observed how modernly one can talk about road safety and call on friends and classmates to wear reflectors. This is how a culture of road safety is formed," comments the project head of the corporate communications department of OKKO Yaroslava Poliakova. - In addition to schoolchildren, "Please, shine!" was supported by teachers and parents from all over Ukraine. Students who took part in the national Olympiad became real heroes for their schools, because their creative videos were seen by the whole country".
Recall that on November 19, 2020, thanks to the work of activists and social projects on road safety in the dark, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine obliged pedestrians to use reflective elements.
It should be noted that "Please, shine!" is an initiative of OKKO, implemented within the framework of the annual project "Please, live! Road safety". The start of the current stage took place on October 22 - a laser projection was shown on the building of the National Library named after V. I. Vernadskyi - a social video about the importance of using reflectors on the road in the dark.
