The production electric Porsche Taycan will be offered to customers in three trim levels from the very start of sales. This information is reported by the Car portal. According to these data, the base modification of the car will be equipped with an 80 kWh battery and an engine with a power of 325 or 380 horsepower. The price of such a variant will start from $90,000.
The next, more expensive version of the Taycan will get a 96 kWh battery and a pair of electric motors. The total power of such a setup will be 435 or 490 horsepower.
The top-of-the-line Taycan Turbo modification will also be equipped with two electric motors mounted on the front and rear axles, similar to those used in the Porsche 919 Hybrid prototype. These units, producing a combined output of over 600 hp, will operate in conjunction with an 800-volt on-board electrical system. The electric car will be able to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds. The driving range without recharging will be enough for a distance of more than 500 kilometers. The weight of the Taycan Turbo reaches 2,095 kilograms. When using a fast-charging station, fifteen minutes will be sufficient for the car to cover up to 400 kilometers.
The public debut will take place in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and series production will begin at the end of 2019. In the future, the lineup will be expanded with two more versions — the most powerful Turbo S and the GTS variant.
The exterior of the production electric car will almost completely replicate the Mission E concept shown in Paris in 2016. The differences will be in the traditional rear doors instead of those that opened against the direction of travel, and a slightly refined aerodynamic body kit.
The interior of the Porsche Taycan provides for at least four large displays, including a digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen on the center console.
