For cars with diesel engines, switching to high-quality winter fuel is a necessary condition for operation to avoid the problem of paraffinization of petroleum products in the fuel system at low temperatures. Already now, all diesel fuel at OKKO gas stations does not freeze at temperatures down to -20°C. And in the near future, especially frost-resistant arctic diesel will be available for sale at most gas station complexes of the network.

Winter grades of gasoline offered by OKKO are characterized by higher completeness of combustion and higher saturated vapor pressure. This facilitates cold starting of the car, increases its maneuverability, and ensures stable engine operation in city driving mode. The use of winter gas, which must have an appropriate component composition, also contributes to easy starting of the car. In particular, in the ratio between the main components of this fuel – propane and butane – the share of propane in winter should be greater than in summer.

“Switching to winter fuel is not only a technical necessity for the car, but also an economically expedient step. For example, if you fill up with summer gasoline in winter, then due to worse combustion, overconsumption can be 3-5%, – explains Alla Sidorovich, head of the TFC Fuel Testing Center, which serves the OKKO network. – And to be confident in the frost-resistant properties of the purchased fuel, not to fall for a counterfeit, it is recommended to refuel at gas stations with a proven reputation and a well-developed system of supply and control of petroleum products.”
