These 20% are provided by two oil refineries - Kremenchug and Shebelinka. Both manufacturers claim that the quality of domestic fuel meets all established standards and requirements, and is in no way inferior to imported analogues.
To find out the real characteristics of this fuel, specialists from the Institute of Consumer Expertise conducted a comparative test to determine power, torque and, most importantly, fuel efficiency. The study involved three fuel samples - two imported (produced by the Belarusian Mozyr refinery and the Lithuanian Orlen) and one domestic - Shebelinka. The former have long proven themselves in our market, while Shebelinka fuel is a relative newcomer. Not long ago, the enterprise underwent a deep modernization, as a result of which they began to produce Euro 5 standard fuel.
The tests were carried out on a very accurate Dynapack dynamometer stand, certified by leading international bodies. This stand can simulate real driving conditions - from load on the chassis to the oncoming air flow, the speed of which changes with the speed on the car's speedometer. Experts measured torque on all gasoline samples, power, and using a fuel flow meter determined fuel consumption and efficiency.
In total, several dozen measurement cycles were made. Measurements were made in "highway" mode, i.e. in top gear in the speed range from 80 to 100 km/h. This algorithm eliminates errors caused by driving style and differences in the gear shifting process.
The test results answered the question that worries many Ukrainian motorists - can domestic fuel adequately compete with imported analogues. Judging by the test results, Ukrainian fuel is practically not inferior to its foreign counterparts. Torque and power on all fuel samples were identical. As for fuel consumption, our fuel showed a result of 5.7 l/100 km, the "Belarusians" - similarly, the "Lithuanians" - slightly lower - 5.5 l/100 km. Accordingly, the test Skoda Fabia on a full tank of Shebelinka A-95 was able to travel 790 kilometers, and on "Lithuanian" - 818. If we take into account equal environmental indicators - an excellent result! Again, it must be taken into account that Ukrainian fuel is significantly cheaper than foreign counterparts due to production costs, lack of customs clearance and short logistics. The test confirmed the quality of our fuel, which is also proven by the intentions of the leaders of the Ukrainian fuel market to sell it in their networks. And this is very good - after all, fuel will become cheaper, the country will save currency, and the plant will have the opportunity to continue modernization and expansion.
