The fact is that the Parliament previously adopted the law "On Preventing Financial Catastrophe", according to which, among other measures, the excise tax on imported cars was doubled.

If we take, for example, a Toyota Camry with a 3-liter engine, the new fee will be 6,540 thousand euros, which is 3,200 euros more expensive than it was before.

The abolition of the recycling fee will only make some cars cheaper, says expert Oleg Omelnitsky, - "At the end of March, a law was adopted to increase the excise tax on most cars. This factor will lead to higher prices, and the abolition of the recycling fee will lead to a fall. In total, there are cars that will become cheaper by 7-8%, and there are those that will rise in price by 4-6%", - he said.

Oleg Nazarenko, General Director of VAAID, stated that only small-displacement cars may become cheaper. "For almost 15 years, when the authorities supported the 'domestic producer', which in principle no longer exists, for the first time the Verkhovna Rada supported the domestic consumer. People will feel a reduction in tax pressure, and cars with a small engine displacement should theoretically become cheaper by about 3.5 thousand", - said Nazarenko.

Let us remind you that earlier we wrote that the Parliament abolished the recycling fee and the excise tax on car conversion.
