No one can count how many times and how many human lives this system has saved during its short existence. But the benefit of this device has been duly appreciated, and in Europe ESP is no longer considered an additional component but is included in the standard equipment of all new cars.

When driving on slippery road surfaces, as well as in cases when the car enters a turn too quickly, ESP keeps it on the road and prevents skids, which often have serious consequences.

Production figures also reflect the growing popularity of this safety system. From the start of its mass production in 1995 until 2010, Bosch produced a total of 50 million ESP units. In just four years, this figure doubled.

In the USA, the system is mandatory on all vehicles weighing up to 4.5 tons. The use of the system is mandatory in Australia and Israel. In Japan, South Korea, Russia, and Turkey, the relevant regulations will come into force over the next few years.
