In Crimea, not only vehicle registration has been suspended, but also the issuance of driver's licenses. The official reason is technical failures, however, apparently, this is related to the transfer of local databases to the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation.

The traffic inspectorate states that the MREO will soon resume its previous mode of operation, and all traffic police units continue to perform their registration and examination functions in the usual manner.
It is likely that those currently taking their driving tests will receive documents of the Russian standard, and car owners will receive license plates that meet the new standards.
